What are the differences between the past SFCHINA exhibition and the present one?

Since its inception in 1983, SFCHINA (China International Surface Finishing Exhibition) has undergone significant changes in multiple dimensions, including exhibition format, scale, and industry value. The differences between the past and present can be clearly reflected in the following core dimensions: I. Evolution of Exhibition Format Early Stage (Before 2020): Adopted a purely offline physical exhibition model. All displays, exchanges, and business matchmaking activities were completed in the physical exhibition hall, without any online support channels. Current Stage (From 2020 onwards): Upgraded to a hybrid "online + offline" exhibition model. In addition to the offline physical exhibition, a dedicated online platform has been built, providing interactive functions such as exhibitor live streaming, product search, business matching, and recorded playback, breaking the limitations of time and space and reaching more industry users who cannot attend in person. II. Growth in Scale and Scale Early Stage: Limited number of exhibitors and professional visitors. The 2020 Guangzhou exhibition only attracted 160 exhibitors and 4,000 visitors, making the overall scale relatively small. Current Stage: The scale has seen a significant leap forward. The 2025 Shanghai exhibition covered 15,700 square meters, attracting 303 exhibitors from 17 countries/regions and 8,510 professional visitors, a 16.2% increase compared to 2024. New exhibitors accounted for 26.1%, demonstrating a continued increase in internationalization. III. Upgraded Industry Positioning Early Stage: Serving only as a basic industry trade platform, its core function was to help exhibitors showcase their products and connect with basic clients. Current Stage: It has become a core authoritative platform in the global surface treatment industry, not only helping companies generate sales leads and expand into new markets, but also playing a crucial role in technical exchange, industry trend releases, and strategic alliance building. It is a core vehicle for promoting technological iteration and in-depth cooperation across the industry. IV. Richness of Supporting Activities Early Stage: The number of supporting activities was limited and their format was simple, with only a few basic technical exchange sessions. At present: The supporting content system is very complete. In 2023, 10 technical forums were held concurrently with the Shanghai exhibition, attracting 900 industry professionals to participate on-site. In 2025, there will be 2 technical seminars and 2 technical forums, covering 685 professional participants, as well as dozens of subdivided activities such as industry annual meetings and supply and demand matchmaking meetings.
